Manatee's entire O-Line and defense's Antonio Henderson earn player(s) of the (University) game honors
The entire offensive line is recognized for its efforts to help Manatee grind out a win. On defense, junior Antonio Henderson took home the honor. Henderson had nine tackles and a key fumble recovery.

Blakely was named the special team player of the week for Hutchinson CC. Blakely has returned 6 punts for 164 yards and one TD.

Doyle and Walters players of the (Palmetto) game
Daniel Doyle was the Defensive Player of the Game and Trevon Walters was the Offensive Player of the Game in Manatee's 35-14 victory over Palmetto. Link to Maxpreps.com story. Doyle recorded 4 QB sacks and 5 solo tackles while Walters ran for 151 yards on 17 carries.

FSU, Rutgers headline recruiters at Manatee vs. Palmetto game
Florida State, Rutgers, Minnesota, Presbyterian and Florida Tech recruiters/coaches were all present when Manatee traveled to Palmetto. In addition, Dwight Thomas, of LRS Sports Recruiting was in attendance.
Thomas was formerly the coach of Pensacola Escambia and won a state championship against Bradenton Southeast with former Dallas Cowboy NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith leading his team.

Kinnan wins USA Today's Best Coach In Florida Vote; Regional round voting begins at Noon Wednesday
Link to USA Today totals. Coach Kinnan tallied 41% of all votes cast, with a vote total of 28,490. Lakeland's Bill Castle came in second with 30% of the vote. The next round of voting begins at Noon on October 9th with the regional winner going on to the final national competition. Link to vote for Coach Kinnan in the regional vote.

The state round began Sept. 30 and ended Oct. 8. The 51 winners – each state plus Washington, D.C. - advance to a regional round, where they are divided among eight regions of six or seven coaches apiece. The regional round begins at noon (ET) Oct. 9 and ends at noon (ET) Oct. 18.

Daniel Doyle and Josh Meyer earn player of the (Riverview) game honors
Defensive lineman Daniel Doyle is the defensive player of the game. Doyle's 2 sacks and 5 solo tackles earned him the award. On offense, QB Josh Meyer threw for 168 yards on 15 completions with one TD. Link to Maxpreps.com article.

Former Manatee QB Brion Carnes, who lead Manatee to the state finals against Plant, has scored twice for Northern Iowa so far this year. Manatee ended high school season for KC Chiefs RB Dexter McCluster
For long time Manatee fans the name Dexter McCluster of the Kansas City Chiefs might sound familiar. McCluster, who returned a punt for a TD on Sunday, had his high school season ended at Hawkins Stadium when he was playing for Largo High in 2005. McCluster's 170 yards against Manatee that night were not enough to prevent the Largo Packers from losing to the Hurricanes in the playoff game, ending the season for Largo.
