Manatee High football inked more Div. 1 FBS scholarships in 2014 than 13 U.S. states

The headline is not a mistake! This year's record number of 12 Manatee High signers, seven of them FBS schools, is remarkable when you review the national data on FBS signers that was recently published by Dallas Jackson at NATIONALHSFOOTBALL.COM.

Manatee's seven FBS signers exceeded the number of signers for 13 states. Another way of looking at the numbers, Manatee High exceeded the total number of signers for 10 US states combined.

Manatee wins county weightlifting championship; Football's Dylan Beauchamp wins heavyweight division

Congratulations to Manatee football strength and conditioning coach Rich Lansky and his weightlifting team. Manatee won the county weightlifting championship at Palmetto High Thursday night. The Hurricanes were lead by offensive lineman Dylan Beauchamp, who won the Heavyweight division. Another offensive lineman, Michael Galati, finished second in the Heavyweight Division and wide receiver Joe Andruzzi won the 169-pound division. For more details, visit BRADENTON.COM.

University School players and supporters still claim they were "bamboozled" by Manatee

Recent posts on Instagram by members of the University School football team members and Instagram's "GridIronStuds" show that they are still upset at their loss to Manatee this past season. In a post from two weeks ago, they claim they were "bamboozled" by Manatee. The POST includes a photo of the University School players in the Manatee visitor's locker room. The post says: TBT: In the locker room before getting bamboozled @ Manatee in 2013 season.

According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the first definition of bamboozle is to "deceive by underhanded methods." No explanation was provided in the post...University School joins the long list of South Florida teams that have lost to Manatee in high profile games since Joe Kinnan has been at Manatee: Miami Southridge (State Championship game), Ft. Lauderdale Dillard (State Championship game), Miami Carol City (State Championship game), Miramar and Miami Central two years ago and University School last year.
