Manatee football coaches and players attend college football recruiting fair in search of more scholarships
A contingent of Manatee football coaches and approximately 12 Manatee High seniors attended a college football recruiting fair in Tampa over Saturday and Sunday of President's Day Weekend. The unique event, held at Jefferson High School in Tampa, allows Division II, III and NAIA college football coaches to see game video and then meet seniors that they are interested in learning more about.
On Saturday it was coaches only, as Manatee coaches spread out and approached the nearly 50 colleges in attendance hoping to generate more interest in this year's record breaking senior class that saw 12 sign on National Signing Day. (The seniors attending this recruiting event have not yet signed letters of commitment.) After talking with the college coaches in attendance, appointments are then set up by the college coaches to meet the next day with Manatee players who the coaches believe may be a fit for their team and college.
